The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) in Jigawa State on Sunday intercepted eight victims of human trafficking.
The victims are: males – Nosa Isaac (45-Edo), Emmanuel Ogu (37-Imo), Abdulwasiu Oladokun (36-Ogun), Osagie Francis (20-Edo), Blessing John (28-Abia): females – Etiosa Henry (24-Edo), Faith Moses (20-Edo) and Success Jacob (19-Abia).
The NIS controller in the state, Ahmad Dauda Bagari, said the victims were travelling without an agent and that all transactions about them were made on phone with a syndicate.
He noted that the victims were mainly influenced by friends and with the knowledge of their parents and guardians.

He said no incriminating items or drugs were found in their possession upon interrogation and assured that they would be handed over to the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP).
