The Team Manager of NPFL side, Lobi Stars, Barnabas Imenger is optimistic that the ‘pride of Benue’ will surely feature in the Super 6 competition to be played at the end of the regular season.

At the moment, Lobi Stars in Group A are in fourth place behind MFM, Enyimba and Rangers in that order.

They have been able to amass 24 points from 16 matches, one less than MFM who are on 25 points from the same number of matches.

It will be recalled that last year, Lobi Stars was picked to represent Nigeria in the ongoing CAF Champions League when the league was prematurely ended by the LMC.

Although they went as far as the group stage, they failed to survive the experience of former champions, Mamelodi Sundowns and Wydad Casablanca.

In a chat with Daily Trust yesterday, Imenger said Lobi Stars will soon topple MFM to occupy the third spot as they aim for one of the group tickets to the Super 6.

“At the moment, we are in fourth place in Group A but there is nothing to worry about. What I know for sure is that we would qualify for the Super 6.

“We are just a point behind MFM so very soon we would push them down. We want to be in a good position to qualify for the play-off.

“It is not going to be easy but in the end, we shall make it. We want to defend our title,” said the former international.
