Lobi Penguins had edged out Gboko giants, BAA FC 5-4 on penalties to reach the semi-finals of the annual tournament sponsored by a former Nigerian junior international and UMM Salal of Qatar player, Moses Orkuma.
On their part, Benue Pros dominated by former players of Lobi Stars defeated Strikers FC 2-1 to set up the semi-final clash with Lobi Penguins.
Speaking to Daily Trust, the victorious coach, Imenger, lauded his players for playing to his instructions.
He said when the Penguins were to play against the more experienced Benue Pros, he knew it was not going to be a stroll in the park.
“I attribute this important victory to God almighty and my players who played with so much determination.
“It was not an easy match because our opponents came prepared for us.
“I thank God that my players were able to maintain the same composure and focus that gave us victory in the quarter-finals.
“Even when the match went into penalties, we were still confident because we had just won on penalties in our quarter-final match with BAA FC,” said the former player of Lobi Stars FC.
Lobi Penguins will play the winner of Wednesday’s second semi-final match between Orkuma Friends and St Michaels Ameladu.
The final of the tournament, which is a platform for talented players to be scouted by foreign football agents, will come up on Saturday, June 11.
