The Director, corps mobilization of National Youths Service Corps (NYSC) Headquarters, Mrs Nnenna Ukonu, has urged corps members currently in orientation camp at Umunya, Anambra state NYSC temporary site to imbibe the entrepreneurial spirit of the people of the state.
She said the spirit will assist them to become employers of labour after their service year.
The director who was on a visit to the state NYSC camp also challenged corps members not to lobby to be relocated out of their posted areas.
The director also cautioned corps members against incessant and unauthorized journeys while serving, urging them to stop unnecessary trips to avoid inherent dangers like accident and others.
She said, instead of making unnecessary journey, “avail yourselves of the different information technologies to reach out to your parents and loved ones”.
She equally reminded them to use the opportunity offered by the NYSC skills acquisition programme to upgrade themselves towards self-reliance at the end of their service year.
Earlier, the state NYSC coordinator, Mr Kehinde Aremu, said a total of 2,220 corps members were deployed to the state, adding that 1,080 were males while 1,140 were females.
