“If you really want to produce president of this country, vote for Atiku-Okowa ticket,” he said.

Atiku also promised to build all the erosion sites and dredge the Onitsha port to be functional.

He said he was happy with the turnout, noting that he never expected such a crowd.

Also speaking at the campaign ground, the national chairman of PDP, Iyorchia Ayu, urged the people of Anambra State to collect their voters cards and vote for Atiku.

“Listen to Atiku and give him your votes. Sometimes an in-law is better than your son. Atiku is going to change the country for better and that is why we are here. Please, hold your PVCs and give us your votes,” he said.

Earlier, when Atiku met with the Anambra traditional rulers he promised to provide security and unite Nigerians by treating each zone equitably.

According to him, without security, peace and unity, there will never be any development in the country.

“My vision and mission as the president is to unite Nigeria, bring peace and provide adequate security for the people of Nigeria. I will give every section its due right,” he said.

Speaking at the meeting, the chairman of Anambra State traditional rulers, Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Alfred Achebe, said the monarchs are non-partisan and will only support whoever wins.

According to him, their jobs are to pray, direct and control the affairs of their various communities.

He called on the candidates to canvas for their votes from the general public.

“Our desire is to have a president who will bring peace, unity and security in the country. We wish you the best,” he said.
