Senator Andy Uba (APC, Anambra South), said yesterday that he is still a member of the APC despite his defeat at the weekend’s gubernatorial primary election in the state.
There were claims that Senator Uba had perfected plans to go back to the PDP.
The senator, who scored 931 votes during the APC primary election, was defeated by a member of the House of Representatives, Tony Nwoye. The duo were members of the PDP before defecting to APC to pursue further political careers.
Uba while addressing newsmen at his country home in Uga, Anambra State, described the reports of his defection as false.
In a statement issued by his media aide, Joseph Itazi, the Anambra senator said he remained member of APC irrespective of the outcome of the party’s primaries.
“Let’s put the record straight, I have no intention of leaving our great party APC for another party. I have always supported the party, so please people should stop spreading false news that I am planning to defect to another party,” he said.
