I’m still a lawyer – BBN contestant, Ebuka

As for taking it as a full time career, I think only time will tell. Since I did not even plan on being here in the first place, who knows what the future holds. But I’m enjoying what I do for now though…

Did Big Brother bring out the entertainer in you?

I would say maybe. I am a very shy person and was never the type to make speeches in front of people or stand in front of a camera. But going on a show where I was challenged on all fronts, definitely made me see sides to me that I never thought existed; and I am very grateful for that.Where is the law part of you?

It still is in me. It is something that I intend to utilise and maximise very soon. I loved studying law and its vast nature means you never stop learning. I love to learn every time and believe that no knowledge is wasted. Thus going back to the law would mean that I have everything to gain. Pretty soon, that side of me will become evident again…

What’s your guilty pleasure?

Right now, it has to be coffee. I suddenly developed a coffee drinking habit and it’s not the healthiest thing.

What happened, you did not win the Big Brother contest?

You know, if I could answer that question, then I would have won. Reality shows are unpredictable and I do not believe that expecting anyone to win necessarily means that the person must win. Everyone went into the show with a fair chance of picking up the prize and viewers make up their minds as the show progresses. The winner was the favourite and won. But come to think of it; I should be asking you this question instead. Why didn’t I win? Since you guys were the ones with the power to vote…

Who is Ebuka; how would you define yourself?

I don’t know if anything should ever define anybody. Yes, people should stand for something and need to be seen as straight forward. But I also believe that being able to be defined is boring and too predictable. I think being multi dimensional in our world today is good. Besides, I don’t think it should be judging myself. People should define me not me defining myself.

What’s your weakness?

Definitely my family! I get very emotional when they are involved.

Given another chance, what would you do differently?

I don’t know. Maybe I’ll get a secret plan to make me richer! I really don’t know. Because it means I would try to be fixing things so that I can have a perfect life. No one has a perfect life; neither do I want one!

What’s your passion?

Success in whatever I do. I totally detest failure and it is probably my biggest fear. I have a passion to succeed in whatever I set out to achieve and that drives me through life?

What is your life like; private, public, love and any other part?

My private life is private so maybe we should leave it that way. My public life, well it’s interesting. It has also been eye opening; meeting different people and being at wonderful places. It’s been fun… As for my love life, let’s not go there…

I hear you are planning on taking a peek into Nollywood and doing something there; could you tell us your plans there?

Sorry but you heard wrong. I do not have a problem with taking a peek. I just don’t think I can act. So there’ll be no need for me to do something I’ll be terrible at.

There have been words around about you doing a duet with one or more of Nigeria’s musicians. Who are they and what exactly is it about?

I do not even sing in the bathroom. My voice is that bad and it’s surprising because I was in the choir as a child. But when my voice broke as a teenager, I lost it. So except there’s an artiste who does not want to sell records, then I’ll say no way. I’d love to try singing someday though…

Please feel free to include any other info I have but asked about that would make this more fun to read. Please I don’t want bullet point answers because I have 1, 200 words to play with.
