The presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Prince Adewole Adebayo, on Sunday declared that he was not intimidated by big parties that have fielded candidates for the 2023 election.
He said the acclaimed big parties are only big by the extent of “vote buying they could engage in” and not as a result of their acceptability by the people.
Speaking with newsmen in Lagos at the weekend, Adewole said the SDP as an alternative political party is ready to confront the big parties in the coming elections.
He also declared his plan to tackle poverty in 18 months if elected as the next president, adding that the party would rescue the country and deliver good governance.
“This time around, we are ready to tackle the big parties. They will meet us in all the polling units. So I am not worried about big parties.
“We have the capacity to solve most of our problems. The greatest disease of Nigeria today is hopelessness. We need to address the hopelessness among Nigerians first.
“I have generated more employment than President Muhammadu Buhari, Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, the Chief of Staff and Speaker of the House of Representatives,” he said.
