Governor Babagana Umara Zulum of Borno State has promised to do more on the area of security, agriculture, food security, job creation and empowerment in his second term.

The governor said this shortly after receiving certificate of return at Sir Kashim Ibrahim Collage of Education in Maiduguri, the state capital, on Thursday.

He also warned elected state and federal lawmakers that they don’t have luxury of time.

Zulum assured people of Borno of his effort to work hundred percent for the benefit of the citizens and residents, irrespective of ethnic or religious differences.

“During the last four years, we have made tremendous effort to ensuring peace and stability in Borno State, nexus between peace, security and development need not to be overemphasize.

“By the help of almighty Allah today, Borno State is more secure than many states in Nigeria, and In Sha Allah, I promised to do more than what I did in the last four years.

I’ll do more, especially in the area of security, agriculture, food security, job creation, youth and women empowerment, urban renewal, flood prevention and most importantly our crusade for rehabilitation and Resettlement.

“Inshallah, within the next four years, we shall do everything possible to ensure that we don’t have Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and, I’m also committed to repatriate indigenes of Borno State that are living in the Republics of Chad, Niger and Cameroon.

“We must provide keen attention to quality education, quality healthcare, WASH. Above all, we have to continue ensuring good governance in Borno. On this note, I’m calling on all our members elect, from national to state to work for our people.”

He said democracy is like any social adventure, involving the contest of idea, and called on those who have not won elections to have courage and work with him to champion the course for the state.

Zulum also asked for forgiveness from the members of opposition parties, who had participated in the contest, should in case they were hurt by statements made by his supporters in the hit of the political passion.

“I’m grateful to Allah, not for our current victory but because, to my knowledge, the election didn’t lead to the loss of any life and property across the 27 local government areas of the state” he added.
