The Ikoyi Club Inter-School Swimming competition is expected to take place on Saturday November 11 with primary and secondary school swimmers in action.
The Ikoyi Club 1938 Swimming section will host the young swimmers for the one day event in which about 50 schools are expected to participate.
Chairman of the Swimming section, Mr. Ikedichi Kanu, on Wednesday noted that all arrangements have been concluded for the competition which is in its second edition.
“We are always happy to receive the young ones here. We want them to compete and develop their skills such that they get better as future champions.
“The schools will enjoy themselves in this competition because we are going to provide a good environment for them to be happy.”
The competition is expected to feature butterfly, breast stroke, backstroke and the freestyle events.
Games captain of the section, Mr. Akinbulejo Onabolu, said students between the ages of seven and 16 will take part in various events in the competition which starts at 9am on Saturday.
“We have worked so hard for this event and we expect everything to go on smoothly as planned,” Onabolu said.
Grange School and St Saviours Ikoyi are the defending Champions of the Inter Club swimming competition.
