Ikabigbo old boys pledge to support alma mater

Ikabigbo Grammar School’s old boys association has held its reunion, pledging to support the school in its quest for academic excellence.

Interim Committee Chairman Kebiru Imhomoh stated this during the event held at the school premises in Ikabigbo, Etsako West Local Government, Edo State.

Imhomoh said the desire to provide quality education and address the challenges confronting the school necessitated the formation of the association.

He said the old boys were worried over the slow but surely declining trend in student performance among others, adding that the association would work toward uplifting education quality.

Imhomoh said with the association in place, things would change for the best, assuring that the association would support the school in the recruitment of teachers and provision facilities.

Earlier, chairman of the Parent Teachers Association (PTA), Isah Usman, commended the association for coming together in the interest of the school.

Isah listed some of the problems confronting the school to include indiscipline on the part of students and teachers, poor attitude toward learning, lack of teaching and non-teaching staff and non-utilisation of the library among others.

He however assured that the PTA would collaborate with the old boys to deal with the challenges confronting the school.
