IGR: Kwara rakes in N18bn in six months

The Kwara State Internal Revenue Service (KW-IRS) said it has realised over N18bn in six months of 2022.

The feat, the management noted, was a leap from N16bn it realised in the first half of 2021.

Executive chairman of the service, Shade Omoniyi, disclosed this while giving her report on performance for 2022 so far.

She said, “The agency has actualized 95.61% of our annual budget of 2021, a feat that is the highest target hit since it was founded in 2016.

“We have also been able to achieve N18.036bn IGR collection for the state in the half year of 2022, a leap from revenue collection of N16bn for the half year of 2021.

“Towards this end and after the conclusion of staff appraisal and promotion exercise for the year 2021, we have promoted 332 staff and step upgrade of 235 others. The list of beneficiaries shows the inclusion of 16 senior Staff and 316 junior staff of the service.”

The KW-IRS boss thanked the Governor, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq for rewarding performance and ensuring conducive work and business environment.

She further appreciated all staff, taxpayers and other stakeholders “who are strategic to our seamless processes of tax administration in the State”.
