The CSOs said to end the festering excesses of SARS operatives, the federal government should embark on enlightenment on rules of engagement, quality control, better welfare, public feedback, reforms and retraining, as well as reward of outstanding performance of SARS as a way of motivation and commitment to duty.

“We passionately appeal to the IGP to ignore the call to end SARS but instead reform it for the general interest of Nigeria. Let us not allow criminals to smile and unleash terror on innocent Nigerians because of some dissenting voices.

“Those agitating for the outright scrapping of the unit are definitely oblivious of the consequences of their agitation and the fight against armed robbery and other heinous crimes bedevilling our dear nation,” he said.
