The Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba, Friday ordered the trial of a policeman, Okoi Liyomo, who was caught on camera beating a man with cutlass in Cross River State.
It would be recalled that the social media was earlier this week flooded with the video of the policeman using the side of a cutlass to flog an individual.

The development drew the ire of many Nigerians, who later called the attention of the authorities of the Nigeria Police Force to demand justice for the victim.
Giving an update on the development yesterday, Force spokesman, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said Liyomo had met the IGP in Abuja on Thursday and he would face trial over his action.
Adejobi, a Chief Superintendent of Police maintained that the police would not condone any form of intimidation of law-abiding citizens from any of its officers.
Daily Trust Saturday reports that the police last week dismissed one of its officers for justifying extortion on the highway.
