The Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba, Monday ordered the Force Investigation Bureau to investigate the reported invasion of the Abuja residence of Justice Mary Odili, a Supreme Court justice.

He said the leadership of the Force was not aware of the incident, adding that it did not at any time order any operative of the force for such unlawful assignment.

Baba, in a statement by the Force spokesman, Frank Mba, described the development as “unfortunate and unacceptable”

He assured of the commitment of the Force to the safety and security of the members of the judiciary and Nigerians in general.

He called for calm, promising that the Force would unravel the perpetrators and motives behind the breach with a view to bringing all indicted persons to book.

He directed the Commissioner of Police, FCT, to strengthen security around the street and residence of Justice Odili to ensure her safety and prevent a reoccurrence of the incident.
