IGP assures adequate security on Eid-El-Fitri

The acting Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Ibrahim Idris on behalf of officers of the Nigeria Police Force felicitates with Nigerians, especially Muslims on the occasion of the 2016 Eid-El-Fitri celebration coming up on 5th and 6th July, 2016 respectively.

A statement on Monday from the spokesman of the Nigeria Police, DCP Don Awunah stated that IGP Idris assured the nation that the Nigeria Police Force will provide adequate security with robust and proactive patrols during and after the celebrations.

 Awunah said IGP Idris has also ordered all Zonal Headquarters and Command Commissioners of Police to ensure adequate security in their areas of responsibilities throughout the duration of the celebration, warning that officers should be deployed evenly to cover the highways, worship and recreation centres.

He added that government installations and all vulnerable points should also be protected in order to give Nigerians feasible sense of safety and security as they celebrate the Eid-El-Fitri and go about their lawful business.
