The Igbinedion University Okada, Edo state has named its newly established Centre for Contemporary Security Studies after the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lieutenant General Yusuf Buratai.
The Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Lawrence Ezemonye, made this known on Wednesday at the Headquarters of the Nigerian Army in Abuja.
He said the university expects General Buratai to make the inaugural speech at the opening of the centre to kick-start academic and intellectual discourse on contemporary security challenges.
In his remarks, Buratai thanked the university for the honour bestowed on him and dedicated the honour to the Officer and men of the Nigerian Army under his command.
In a related development, Buratai also received an investiture as life patron of the Institute of Economist of Nigeria from its acting President, Professor Osisioma Nwolise.
