Igala youth group opposes rotation of Council of Chiefs’ chairmanship

The Igala Youth Council (IYC), which is the apex youth-based body in Igala nation, has condemned the call for a rotation

The Igala Youth Council (IYC), which is the apex youth-based body in Igala nation, has condemned the call for a rotation of the chairmanship of the Kogi State Council of Chiefs as being proposed by the Ebira Peoples Assembly (EPA).

The EPA had, in a press release recently, called on Governor Yahaya Bello to initiate a bill that would allow for rotation of the chairmanship among the three senatorial districts of the state.

The president of the IYC, Collins Onogu Monday, said the call was calculated at breaching the existing peace in the state.

He urged the commissioner of police and the state director of the Department of State Services (DSS) to call such group to order.
