IFAP sensitises FCT council on religious tension

The Inter-Faith Action Programme (IFAP) has organised a two-day sensitisation programme with the theme: “Reducing Interfaith Religious Tension and Promotion of Social Cohesion in Nigeria”, for stakeholders in Kwali Area Council of the FCT.

Speaking during the workshop at the LEA Conference Hall in Kwali on Friday, the Assistant Programme Manager of Daral-Andarus, Fatima Muhammad Nata’alla, said the programme was organised and targeted at ulama, clerics, pastors, imams, as well as security agencies on how to sensitise the public to live in peace irrespective of tribe, ethnic and religious affiliations.

She said the programme was first organised by Daral-Andarus, a centre for peacekeeping and conflict resolution, which she noted that different categories of people, including women, were trained on how to ensure peaceful coexistence at the grassroots without any religious bias.
