Nollywood’s actor best known for his comic roles, John Okafor, popularly known as Mr Ibu, said if he wanted to die, he would let the public know.

The movie star who has been bedridden for an undisclosed illness said this via a video posted on social media.

He had recently been rumoured to have died by some blogs which turned out to be false.

Speaking from a hospital’s bed beside his wife, the veteran actor lamented how some people were taking advantage of his health condition.

“Some people have seen me like this. They really want to hear from me. All they know is to sell me free of charge. It didn’t work. God has risen me up (sic).

“I’m here with my wife. I’m not saying all my friends that are supposed to pay me a visit and bring me money cannot give me.

“I’ve never asked anyone to beg people for money on my behalf. It is not as critical as they are talking now. They should stop. If I want to die, I’ll let you know, since you’re interested,” he said.

His wife also said his Instagram account was hacked and the hackers were using it to scam people for money.

She said whoever wanted to assist her husband should come to the hospital or contact her directly.
