IDP sexually assaults mentally challenged minor in Adamawa

A 53-year-old man, Usman Tela Ahmadu, an Internally Displaced Person (IDP) from Maiduguri, Borno State, staying in Samunaka, Yola North LGA, has been arrested for sexually assaulting a mentally challenged girl.

The Commissioner of Police (CP), Afolabi Babatola, expressed worry about the incident and called on parents and guardians to provide necessities to their wards to prevent them from accessing criminally-minded people.

CP Babatola, who noted that there was no hiding place for criminals in Adamawa State, said that strategies to checkmate Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and other criminal activities had been emplaced for the Ember Months.
