Scorer of Nigeria’s fifth goal in yesterday’s 5-0 thumping of Sudan, Sunusi Ibrahim has expressed happiness with his first goal for the Olympic Eagles.
Speaking to Daily Trust shortly after the Olympic Eagles qualified for the 2019 U-23 AFCON, the reigning NPFL Highest goalscorer said he is living his dream.
He said every since he started playing football, his dream was to play for Nigeria and also score goals for the national teams.
Ibrahim, therefore, said that even as he didn’t score on his debut for the Olympic Eagles in Sudan, he was still confident that he will open his account in Asaba.
According to him, the goal against Sudan will serve as morale booster for him to score more goals for the team in future matches.
“I am overwhelmed with joy over my first goal for the team. This is dream come true for me.
“First I prayed to play for Nigeria and now I have gone a step further to score my first goal.
“I dedicate this goal to my mother, my team mates in Nasarawa United and the national U-23.
“I will not rest on my oars as my plan is to help the team to retain the AFCON title and also qualify for the 2020 Olympics,” he said.
