According to the former VC, his resignation has nothing to do with the pressure of work, adding that his decision to leave the job is personal.

“I wish to thank you and the good people of Niger state for giving me the opportunity to serve as a pioneer Vice-Chancellor since November, 2006. It is a rare opportunity every academic always wish to aspire to.

“Due to personal reasons I wish to resign my post as vice chancellor with effect from July 8, 2009. I thank the administration for tolerating my academic related odds and peculiarities since your administration came in May, 2007. It has been wonderful and I appreciate the respect you always extended to me”, it reads.
