Duhu said his fulfilment stemmed from the fact that as a senior party official from the region, he was instrumental for the coming into the APC of former vice president, Atiku Abubakar and former governor of Adamawa State, Murtala Nyako.
“I was the first national vice chairman of the party in the North-east. I know what I went through to ensure that this party becomes strong, particularly in the North-east. In Bauchi, there were so many divergent interests, so much cries, but when I arrived Bauchi to ensure that there is a structure, we did it smoothly and the people of Bauchi appreciated me for what I did, because they never expected that I was the messiah then.”
He said that he did the same thing in Gombe, and Taraba and in his home state of Adamawa.
