I won’t fail Kano – APC gov’ship candidate

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2023 general elections in Kano State, Dr Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, has promised not to fail the people of the state.

Gawuna, who is the incumbent deputy governor of Kano State, made the promise in Abuja during stakeholders’ meeting/dinner night organised by his campaign organisation on Monday.

The gubernatorial candidate, who unveiled his manifesto at the event, stated: “The confidence that people have in me is what has brought me where I’m today.

“I’ve never lobbied for any job. From local government chairman to the deputy governor. That is why I’ll never fail the people.”

He said some people were cashing in on the differences within the party in the state “to instigate miscreants.”

He added: “Security challenges are happening because of the differences between our leaders. We have to put aside the differences between us. These difference are shortchanging the people”.

He said if elected, he would give priority attention to education, infrastructure, housing, water, agriculture, job creation, health, environment, women and youths, sports development, local government and civil service reforms.

“Whatever we said here, we’ll take it back home and add it to the manifesto. It’s a continuous process. I will not fail you”.

Earlier, the chairman of the occasion, Professor Muzali Jubril, described Gawuna as a dedicated and patriotic citizen, saying “with him, there is a great hope for Kano.”
