Governor Gboyega Oyetola of Osun State has said he will do everything legitimately possible to reclaim his mandate in court.
Oyetola had lost his re-election bid to the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Ademola Adeleke, in the July 16, 2022, governorship election in the state, as declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Adeleke of the PDP won 17 of the 30 local government areas in the election held in the state, but Oyetola and his party, the APC, are challenging the outcome of the poll at the tribunal.
Oyetola, who visited the APC national headquarters on Monday in Abuja, told newsmen that he would reclaim his mandate.
The governor said, “I don’t have any fear. I have faith in the Almighty God. I will reclaim my mandate.”
He also said Osun State would deliver one million votes to the APC presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to ensure his victory in the February 25, 2023 poll.
“We started the campaign, sometime last week. We had a solidarity walk throughout the state; we covered 11 km. The turnout was so massive.
“Osun has always been a state for the progressives. So, there is nothing to worry about. I can assure you, we will deliver nothing less than one million votes for Asiwaju,” he said.
It could be recalled that Oyetola polled 375,027 votes in the Osun governorship election conducted in July.
INEC had declared Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the winner of the governorship election held in the state after polling 403,371 votes.
