A suspect, Osmudiammen Johnbull (22), who was arrested for armed robbery in Edo State has said that the arrest was in place of his friend.
The suspect, who was paraded alongside other suspected criminals, was arrested in Ohah community with a locally made pistol, six rounds of cartridges and three handsets.
He said, “I was arrested in my junction because of a missing phone in my junction. A friend of mine was there and the owner accused him of stealing the phone.
“All these items were recovered from my friend’s house. I took the police to go and bust his house but he ran away leaving his door open and the police searched the room and recovered the items.

“I didn’t know my friend was into armed robbery, and I don’t know anything about the stolen phone.”
Parading the suspects, the Edo State command’s spokesperson, Chidi Nwabuzor, said upon his arrest, Johnbull led the police to their armoury where two locally made pistols, six rounds of live cartridges and three handsets were recovered.
He said effort was ongoing to arrest other fleeing suspects.
