Senator Samuel Anyanwu has said he still remains the national secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) despite an Appeal Court judgement which installed Mr Ude Okoye, as the party’s national secretary.
He spoke on Thursday during an interview on AIT.
Anyanwu clarified that despite a Court of Appeal ruling for his removal, he remained the party’s national secretary due to an appeal filed at the Supreme Court with a stay of execution, alongside a standing Federal High Court judgment that validates his tenure.
He argued that legally, he continues to hold the office until a final decision is made by the Supreme Court.

Anyanwu also affirmed the legitimacy of Amb. Umar Damagum, as the acting national chairman, dismissed any notion of division within the PDP ranks.
He stressed that Amb. Damagum is in charge and that the party stands united under his leadership.
Speaking on his relationship with the minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike, Anyanwu said, “Wike and I have been friends since our days as council chairmen. We can’t stop being friends because of partisan politics.”
