‘I regret joining cult’

Chukuemeka Peter, a repentant member of Black Axe, a cult group in Jos, said he regrets being a member of the group.

Peter said his membership of the group did him bad than good and stressed that he never achieved any positive thing for being a member.

Peter, who said he renounced his membership in 2015, spoke when he was paraded at the headquarters of Operation Safe Haven (OPSH), the multi-security task force maintaining peace on the Plateau and some parts of Bauchi and Kaduna states by the Commander, Major General Chukuemaka Okonko.

Peter said, “Rather than gaining anything, I left with nothing. The tattoo of an axe on my shoulder has prevented me from joining any government force because it exposes my membership of the cult group. So, it has done more harm than good,” and vowed to cooperate with the security operatives to expose other members of the group.
