The Bauchi State governor, Senator Bala Mohammed, on Wednesday said he met former President Olusegun Obasanjo behind closed doors in Abeokuta, Ogun State, to intimate him of his presidential bid ahead of 2023.
Mohammed, who is one of those battling for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s presidential ticket, arrived Obasanjo’s penthouse residence located within the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library in Abeokuta, at about 11:30am and went straight into a closed-door meeting, which lasted for about an hour.

Addressing newsmen after the meeting, Mohammed explained that he met Obasanjo over his personal ambition ahead of 2023.
The governor stressed that Nigeria’s leadership should be based on merit towards bringing everybody on board.
He added that PDP is rebuilding the party to provide Nigerians the opportunity to rescue the country from the present divisions confronting it.
