Poland-based Nigerian music artist, Idris Olabamiji Bashir, better known as 7Star Dris may not be doing music in his fatherland but he is well conversant with the dynamics of the Nigerian music industry and he has revealed that he likes different artists for different reasons.
According to him, there are many good artists in Nigeria but his list consists of four top stars who are making waves in Nigeria and on the International stage as well.
“I love Davido because of the recognition he has garnered for himself in global music. Then there is Tuface because of the good lyrics and his long-standing consistency. Tiwa Savage comes into the picture for me because of her angelic voice. Her energy is amazing and electrifying. In fact, Nigeria is massive right now but Rema in my own opinion is the future of African music. His music is stimulating and has great potential,” he asserted.
7Star Dris has established himself as he veered into the world of music in 2010 but didn’t release his first song until 2013 when he debuted with a party jam titled “Flex”. Before his music found air to breathe, for about a decade, he was living life as a graphic designer for different artists and promoters. He spent a lot of time together with them and from there he started creating content, lyrics and stories.
He is a proud Nigerian who is very much happy with Nigerian dominance of music in Africa. He admits Africa artistes have come of age and is particularly happy that international stars from all over the world are scrambling to collaborate with them.
“No contest. Music industry in Nigeria is like an African identity now to the world. I also think Nigerian music is excellent, because we can deliver on any beat and language,” he declared.
7Star Dris is not a greenhorn in the music world, after his debut song in 2013 he followed up with an expression of serious intent with a party banger “Jaiye” in 2014. He also released two other singles “Cool Jam” and “Baller” in 2015 and 2019 respectively.
In addition to his personal efforts as a music artist, he has been involved in making many tracks and hit singles with different artists. In this regard, he did many singles’ covers, concerts, shows and club fliers.
