I have no rift with Ndigbo, S/East governors over my peace initiative – Deputy Speaker Kalu

The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, has debunked rumours of an alleged rift between him, Ohanaeze Ndigbo and South East governors over the Peace In South East Project (PISE-P) he initiated.

In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Levinus Nwabughiogu, on Monday, he said it was unfortunate that there was a move to undermine the pursuit of peace and tranquility in the South East region hitherto enmeshed in violence.

He said a plethora of sponsored reports are coming up both on conventional news platforms and online media which he said were all aimed at casting aspersions on his person and the Office of the Deputy Speaker for championing the worthy cause.
