Title winning Technical Adviser, Usman Abdallah of Enyimba FC has expressed his satisfaction at winning the eighth Nigeria Professional Football League title.

He achieved this after a 3-0 victory over Akwa United at the Agege Township Stadium on Wednesday to win his first league title as a coach.

While speaking to reporters, the Kano born tactician said the success was due to hard work after the overhauling of the team before the season commenced.

“This year the aim was to win the league and qualify for the continent, those are the two goals we set, we did it and we are happy.

“It’s a lot of hard work. We were able to overhaul the team, reinforce the team, we integrate them well. At the beginning, it was difficult but the players responded well.”

He therefore said he intends to keep most of the players for the 2020 CAF Champions League.

“The focus is preparing the team for the continent. We have been working very hard. I don’t think we need to make changes, as I would love to work with this team for 2020.”

It will be recalled that Enyimba have won the NPFL title in 2001, 2002, 2003, 2005, 2007, 2010 and 2015. They were African Champions in 2003 and 2004.

Enyimba, Kano Pillars will now represent Nigeria in CAF Champions League while Enugu Rangers will represent Nigeria in the CAF Confederations Cup.

Meanwhile the winner of the 2019 Aiteo Cup pick up the final slot in the CAF Confederations Cup.
