President Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday received the National Leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa, Abuja.
They held a closed-door meeting.
At the end of the meeting, Tinubu said he was at the presidential villa to thank the president for visiting him in London where he sought medical treatment.
He stressed that the meeting had no political motive.
Fielding questions from newsmen after the meeting, Tinubu said: “I came to thank President Muhammadu Buhari for visiting me in London when I had knee surgery. He demonstrated empathy. He is an exceptional leader.”
He added: “Only to thank the president, first of all, for his visit to my residence in London after the surgery and wishing me well, lifting my spirit and indeed what an exceptional leader will do to collaborate. So, that’s what I came for and to welcome him back from the trip to Saudi.
“No politics, just courtesy call to thank him in a big way, that’s all.”
On the president’s response, the former governor of Lagos State said the president was happy he was around, adding that he was not obliged to speak on other things they discussed.
