I brought Ambode but he has deviated – Tinubu

The All Progressives Congress, APC, National party leader, Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu has described the the ongoing Lagos governorship primaries as the peoples voice.

Tinubu said this while addressing journalist at his electoral ward.

He said “I was the one who brought in the Governor and the party accepted him. But he deviated from the blueprint and the people said this is what they want,” Tinubu said.

However, at the time of filing this report, Governor Ambode who had since gone to his hometown of Epe has not participated in the primary.

In a brief address with journalists after participating in the voting process, Sanwo-Olu said he was impressed with the party’s members’ turnout, expressing confidence on his chances to win.

“So far, you can see that the process has been peaceful. Although, you may say it is a bit rowdy, but it is about people’s enthusiasm and this is Lagos Island, my family house is about three or four buildings away from here.

“When we insisted on having direct primary, this is what we envisaged. To let people have their say in the voting process and so far everything has been orderly. I can say as it is here, so it would be across the entire 245 wards in the state. We are confident of victory,” Sanwo-Olu said.
