‘I beat my neighbour for pretending to be a pastor’

A 38-year-old man, Ken Udoh, has been arraigned in an Isolo magistrates’ court, in Lagos, for beating up his neighbour on Omiyala Street in the Ejigbo area of Lagos.

The prosecutor, Oje Uagbale, told the court that the accused grabbed his pastor neighbour by his shirt and beat him to a pulp and thereafter smashed his phone.

The accused who pleaded not guilty told the court that: “My lord, the complainant is so fake. He goes about deceiving people that he is a pastor. He is so fake that he irritates me.”

The Magistrate, Mrs I O Akokhia, granted him bail in the sum of N100,000 with one surety in like sum and adjourned to January 26, 2023.
