I am a Muslim and went to church for thanksgivings – Gov Sule

Nasarawa state Governor, Abdullahi Sule said, he is the only Muslim governor who returns to church to give thanks to God after his election as governor of the state in 2019.

He made the statement during the commissioning/dedication of Evangelical Reformed Church of Christ (ERCC) ultra modern headquarters secretariat along Keffi road Alushi, Akwanga LGA of the state.

The governor was represented by his special adviser on youths and sports, Mr. Kwanta Yakubu who donated N5m to enable the church fit the edifice with furniture and other required items.

Governor Sule said he did that because he attended Roman Catholic Mission ( RCM ) Primary School, Gudi in 1968.

He called on all faith-based organizations to support his administration as the state under his leadership will continue to carry everyone along to enhance peace, unity and development of the state.

Governor Sule said the government of the state recognises the contributions of the ERCC to the development of education, health, women and youth empowerment as well as leadership development programmes for the youth through the boys brigade and girls brigade programmes.

He said that the state government will continue to partner with all faith-based organizations as veritable tools in the shaping of society for responsible citizenship and national patriotism for the promotion of peaceful co-existence in Nasarawa state.
