Men of the Nigeria Hunters and Forest Security Service have arrested six suspects in connection with crimes in Benue State.
Special Adviser (SA) to Benue State Governor on Security and Internal Matters, Chief Joseph Har, who disclosed this in Makurdi on Wednesday during a four-day capacity training exercise for security outfits in the state, said the feat was actualised on Sunday night, emphasising that they arrested six persons for various criminal offences.
Har, while recalling the sensitisation campaign against crime and criminality embarked upon a few days ago in Makurdi, which was a collaboration of the Benue State Volunteer Guards, Nigeria Hunters and Forest Security Service, Vigilantes of Nigeria, police and others, disclosed that by next week all the outfits, including himself, would relocate to Naka road and surrounding forests, the epicentre where most travellers were kidnapped to comb every nook and cranny for criminal elements.
Earlier, the state’s Commander of the Nigeria Hunters and Forest Security Service, commended 72 Special Forces Battalion of the Nigerian Army for the capacity training; the governor; traditional rulers and all others for their assistance and support given to them, assuring of his men’s readiness to fish out criminal elements from their hideouts in all the 23 LGAs of the state.
