Earlier, the prosecutor, Insp Mannir-Nasir Dayi, told the court that the case was slated for further mention but that the charge needed to be amended.
Dayi said the police division in Giwa LGA, Kaduna State, amended the First Information Report (FIR), adding the charge of causing grievous hurt and attempt to wit culpable homicide punishable under Sections 216 and 189 of the Penal Code.
He told the court that sometime in April, the victim was attacked by Tukur’s dog and that he hit the dog on one of its hind legs with a stick to wade off the attack.
He further said Tukur later accosted and attacked the victim with a machete on the head and buttocks, inflicting grievous injuries on him. (NAN)
