An 18-year-old golfer, Agib Aubrey Hughes, has emerged as the overall winner of the 15th IBB Golf Junior Open Championship.
The championship was held at the IBB International Golf & Country Club, Abuja, from the 15th to the 19th of August 2023.
Hughes, from the IBB International Golf & Country Club, was a runner-up in the last edition.
His 216 scores will now be posted to the World Amateur Ranking for records, according to the organisers.

Speaking after receiving his trophy, the Malian, Hughes, said he was excited to be crowned the overall winner this time around.
“I think something that we should all take away is that education comes first. But after that, we can talk about something to make money from,” he said.
In other results, David Inalegwu (225) won the U15-18 Boys’ gross category while Grace Agbo (252) won the girls’ category.
Atang Izang (243) emerged as the winner in the 11-14 Boys’ gross category and Zikachat Daniel (306) was the winner in the girls’ category.
In the 7-10 Boys gross category, Wilson Izang (126) took the first position while Omowonuola Olanrewaju (140) came first in the girls’ category.
Speaking at the end of the championship, the Lady Captain of the Club, Comfort Folashade Olateju, said she is rest assured the game of golf in Nigeria is secured.
