How Yan Sakai member robbed, killed man in Sokoto

A member of the outlawed Yan Sakai, Sidiq Kuruwa, has been arrested for robbing and killing a Fulani man, Riskuwa Kalamon, in Tureta Local Government Area of Sokoto State.

Kuruwa was said to have trailed the Fulani man after he sold his cow at Tsamiya Market in preparation for his daughter’s wedding.

He was also said to have used an axe to hack the victim after robbing him of the sum of N460,000.

Kuruwa, who was paraded by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), said he shared the money with his friend who was at large.

He confessed that “I bought a cow with part of my share. I am now regretting my action because I killed him without any reason.”

He further said his partner informed the relations of the victim that, “I killed their son alone.”

The NSCDC Commandant in the state, Muhammad Dada, said the cow and the sum of N160,000 were recovered from him.
