How we nearly had a plane crash — Aisha Buhari

The First Lady, Hajiya Aisha Buhari, on Saturday thanked all Nigerians for their prayers and well wishes while she was away for medical treatment in the United Arabs Emirates (UAE).

The wife of President Muhammadu Buhari, in a statement signed personally, said : “I am well now and fully recovered and had since returned back home, Nigeria.”

She said the Nigerian Airforce Flight “encountered a violent clear air turbulence which was navigated safely and professionally by the Captain and crew of the Flight” on their way back home.

Hajiya Buhari, therefore, lauded and appreciated the courage and professionalism of the Captain and his crew as well as those she called “the wonderful gallant service men and women of the entire Nigerian Airforce” for their dedication to duty and the quality of maintenance of its Fleet.

It was reported that Nigeria was saved from a national disaster and calamity over the weekend when the private jet returning Hajiya Buhari and her daughter, Hanan, from Dubai, lost control for about 10 minutes after five hours of flying.

Mrs. Buhari had departed the country for the oil-rich Arab nation at the Sallah weekend, fueling insinuation that she was critically ill.

On July 31, she observed the Eid El-Kabir prayers at home with her family to adhere to the advisories from the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19 and the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA).

She also took pictures with members of her family on the day.
