  1. Dab your face with tissue: After washing your face, wait an hour before patting your T-zone with a tissue. Check the tissue to see whether any oil has rubbed off on it. If it did, your skin type is either oily or mixed. Your forehead and nose are part of your T-zone. The bridge of your nose serves as the basis of the “T,” which is why the area is known as the “T-zone.” The top of the “T” is made up of the area of your forehead above your brows.
  2. Notice how your skin feels: Your face will feel tight after cleansing if you have dry skin, but oily skin will feel cleaner right away. If you have combination skin, your T-zone will feel clear, but your cheeks will feel tight. Certain cleansers will induce a reaction in sensitive skin, which could result in rashes or itchy skin. If you have sensitive skin, using some cosmetic products may cause your face to become red, itchy, or break out in a rash. As the day goes on, oily skin will begin to feel greasy once more. If your skin doesn’t fit into any of these categories and you don’t have any problem spots, you probably have normal skin, which requires little upkeep.
  3. Look in the mirror: Your face may be covered in red, flaky areas, which indicates that your skin is dry and/or sensitive. You have oily skin if your entire face is shiny. Your skin is mixed if both are present.
  4. Look at your pore size: If you have regular skin, your pores will be noticeable but not huge. Take a few steps back from the mirror, If your pores are still visible, you have oily skin. You have dry skin if your pores are not at all visible. When your face has multiple pore sizes, you have combination skin, which combines dry, oily, and normal skin types.
  5. Pinch your skin: Squeeze your skin for a bit and   if your skin wrinkles readily when force is applied, you have dry or combination skin. Smooth skin will feel oily.
  6. Smiling method: You can employ a different tactic in addition to the bare-faced approach. Examine your face while smiling after washing and letting it dry. You might have dry skin if your cheeks and/or skin feel tight or if any fine lines or wrinkles stand out visibly.
  7. Consult a dermatologist: Your dermatologist can answer any questions you have about your skin if you’re still unsure of what type of skin you have. To treat your dry, oily, sensitive, combination, or acne-prone skin, they can recommend various over-the-counter drugs and carry out some operations.
