Emerald Fennell
British director, Emerald Fennell, walked down the red carpet at Sunday’s Academy Awards pregnant with her second child.
Fennell looked beautiful in a voluminous floral Gucci gown, which had touches of pink.
Maria Bakalova gave social distancing extra metres
Maria Bakalova, the star of Borat Subsequent Moviefilm, hit the red carpet wearing a six-metre-wide Louis Vuitton gown featuring a 100 metres of tulle – a lightweight netted material – paired with a deep V neckline.
The rule of social distancing says ‘two metres’ but Bakalova gave them extra!
Regina King
Having won the best supporting actress for her performance in ‘If Beale Street Could Talk’, Regina King returned to the Oscars not as an actress but as the director of ‘One Night In Miami,’ which had three nominations.
King wore a custom, pale-blue Louis Vuitton gown with bedazzled pleating and bold style shoulders.
Daniel Kaluuya
Daniel Kaluuya played it fairly straight with his razor-sharp black and navy tuxedo.
Roe and Free with tributes to Kobe and Gianna Bryant
Martin Desmond Roe and Travon Free’s appearance on the red carpet signalled a subtle tribute to the late basketball player and his daughter, Kobe and Gianna Bryant.
The duo won best live action short for their film ‘Two Distant Strangers.’
Kobe and Gianna who died in a tragic helicopter crash in January 2020 are known for the Jersey numbers 24 and 2. Roe and Free sported bejewelled Dolce & Gabbana pins with the numbers 24 and 2.
The Los Angeles Lakers retired the number 24 as a mark of respect to the star and his daughter after their death.
