How Soldiers ‘rescued about 180 students’ at Kaduna School

Security operatives rescued about 180 students of the Federal College of Forestry Mechanisation (FCFM), Afaka in the Mando area of Kaduna State, during the recent attack, Daily Trust gathered.

Lecturers of the school said contrary to reports that only female students were abducted, some male students were equally abducted.

Daily Trust gathered that the rescued students have been moved to 1 Division Garrison Command of the Nigerian Army in Ribadu Cantonment.

A military source had earlier told Daily Trust that but for personnel of the Nigerian Air Force and troops of 1 Division Nigerian Army Headquarters, Kaduna, the attack would have been worse.

Matrons in the school told our correspondent that the bandits broke the back fence of the school and abducted some males students before they proceeded to the female hostel.

Another matron at the female hostel said the military engaged the bandits before rescuing 180 students while the bandits made away with others.

Kaduna state Commissioner of Internal Security, Samuel Aruwan, confirmed the rescue saying, efforts are being made to get the remaining students.
