How serial rapist killed, dumped victims’ corpses in Ogun forests — Police

The police in Ogun State have revealed how a suspected serial rapist, Philip Ogunnaike, raped three women, killed them and dumped their corpses in different forests in the state.

The Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alamutu, had led his team and the suspect to different locations where carcasses of the victims were recovered.

Some locations visited were, Asero estate in Abeokuta, Itori in Ewekoro and Mile 6 along Ajebo road in Obafemi Owode local government, where he buried his victims.

According to police, women who fell victims of Philip’s henious crime included 18-year-old Akinsanya Habibat, 22-year-old Abigail Dina, and 23-year-old Mary Ogunyemi.

The CP described the suspect as an animal in human clothing.

According to the commissioner, the suspect and his accomplice Danjuma, who is at large, were in the habit of luring victims to isolated bushes, collecting their phones, and demanding ransom from their families and eventually killing them.

Speaking to newsmen, the suspect demanded for death penalty, adding that his accomplice enlisted him into the crime.

“I don’t want the government to do anything for me, me and Danjuma and those cultist members. Once they catch us if they want to give us judgment, they should just kill us. Because they are the ones who led me to these stupid things,” he said.

Alamutu, who expressed dissatisfaction at the increasing number of missing persons and crime among youths, assured that an investigation is underway to identify and apprehend the other gang members.

The police commissioner also pledged to bring the suspect before the court to face the repercussions of his horrific deeds, as families of the victims demand justice for the untimely deaths of their loved ones.
