How police officer’s sons, 3 others killed my 27-year-old son –Bizman

A Lagos State-based businessman, Felix N. Nnadozie, has alleged that his 27-year-old son, Felix Ugo, was hacked to death by suspected cultists led by the sons of a police officer.

Though the case is before the homicide unit of the Lagos State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Yaba, Mr Ugo has alleged that there was a plot to cover up the case by the police officer.

While recounting the incident that led to the death of his son to City & Crime, Mr Ugo said the issue started on July 4, 2024, when his wife was cooking in front of their house and a neighbour’s daughter poured water on their burner.

He said though the girl earlier claimed that it was the devil’s handwork when his son demanded to know the reason for her action, she later emerged along with her mother holding a kitchen knife.

He said, “My son was able to disarm her and the mother that was trying to hold him before neighbours intervened.

“We thought this was over, but the next day, the young lady and two of her relatives named Favour and Victor hired the services of five young men led by Samuel and Israel who are sons of a police officer.

“The other three hired men are Moses, Emmanuel Eke and Spider (not real name). They stormed the compound at about 11am and met my son as he was trying to leave the house and descended on him. They beat him with sticks, stones and whatever they could lay their hands on.

“They finished with him and left him unconscious on the ground. When I came back and saw my son lying unconscious, I went to the Ajangbadi Police Station and filed a complaint. I wrote my statement and four persons: Chioma, Favour, Victor and Emmanuel, were arrested immediately for assault.

“I rushed my son to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja. Unfortunately, my son died on July 6, 2024, clearly, as a result of injuries he sustained from the assault.”

He further said, “It was at SCID that the police officer used his influence to ensure that his children were allowed to go. It was at the SCID that the officer in charge of the case told me that if I were a police officer, would I allow my sons to be tried for murder.

“I have written to the office of the Lagos State Commissioner of Police (CP), Adegoke Fayoade, seeking justice for my son.”

The Lagos State Police spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin, did not comment on the issue even when a copy of the petition to the CP was sent to him.
