How MultiChoice brands consistently impact its customers – CEO

The Chief Executive Officer of MultiChoice Nigeria, John Ugbe, has disclosed how the video entertainment firm has continuously impacted its customers and encouraged loyalty towards its brands over the years.

Speaking at the Brand Power Golden Icon Awards in Lagos at the weekend, Ugbe said MultiChoice wins over customers by delivering the right content, using the right people, through the right technology and with the right culture.

He added that through this winning strategy, MultiChoice Nigeria has been able to have an aggregate impact of $1.1 billion from 2011 to 2015.

He said the company was able to accomplish this through material partnerships and financial support, training, master classes for upcoming talent, content acquisition, co-productions and commissioning of movie projects and increased Nigerian content on the Africa Magic channels.

Ugbe, who was a recipient of two awards at the event ‘Thought Leader par excellence’ and ‘Youth Empowerment through access to information,’ also highlighted strategies adopted by other companies.

Citing both global and domestic brands, he listed key strategies such as relevance, presence, authenticity, trust, inclusion & representation, responsiveness & sensitivity, listening to customers and consistency.

Citing famous brands as examples, he urged entrepreneurs to consistently engage their consumers on social media, especially in more exciting ways.

“For branding to succeed, your consumers have to trust you,” he subimitted.
