Luck ran out for a man simply identified as Ismaila who reportedly mobilised his gang to rob and kidnap his neighbour, Alhaji Mohammed Makusidi, the Wakilin Nufawa, Sabon-Wuse, Tafa LGA of Niger State.
City & Crime gathered that gunmen invaded the residence of the Wakilin Nufawa on Saturday night and shot sporadically, shattering the glasses of the house to gain entry.
One of Wakili’s neighbours, who didn’t want his name mentioned, told our correspondent that, “While the gunmen were shooting, Wakilin Nufawa asked them to let him open the door for them to come in while he was also holding his gun. So, the gunmen stopped shooting. Immediately he opened the door, he fired his gun and a bullet hit one of the gunmen on his head and he died instantly. He fired the second shot and it hit another one on the leg. Surprisingly, the one the bullet hit on his leg was discovered to be his immediate neighbour.”
When contacted, the Niger State Police Command’s spokesman, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, confirmed the incident, but said the suspect was gunned down by police operatives and hunters.
