How Malami wedded Buhari’s daughter secretly

Last Friday, Nigeria’s Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, tied the knot with Nana Hadiza, one of the daughters of President Muhammadu Buhari in a secret wedding.

Malamai married Hadiza as his third wife in a low-key wedding fatiha that took place at the State House Jumuat Mosque.

However, something that left tongues wagging, especially on Nigeria’s social media was how the wedding took place secretly without any prior invitation.

Even some of the wedding pictures of the couples that trended earlier this week could not confirm there was any serious ceremony.

The bride is one of Buhari’s daughters from his late wife, Safinatu.

A reliable source in the Presidential Villa confirmed to Daily Trust that although the wedding ceremony took place after Jummat prayer at State House and without any form of ceremony, aside from the traditional Islamic wedding in the mosque.

The source, who pleaded anonymity said, “It was deliberately planned to be secret, that is why no one was invited, not even the State House reporters. But, no one could say why they cosed to make it so.

“It is true that the wedding took place and AGF Malami is now officially Buhari’s in-law,” the source confirmed.

Hadiza’s previous wedding

Available records have shown that this is not Hadiza’s first wedding, as she was formerly married to Abdulrahman Mamman Kurfi, but later got divorced.

Before their divorce, however, the erstwhile couples have six children.

With this new marriage, the President’s daughter is now officially Malami’s third wife, after Aisha and Fatima.

The AGF had at different times been referred to as one of the most powerful members of Buhari’s cabinet who exert influence in most of its key decisions and policies.
